Inclement Weather Arrangement
Museum Opening
- Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above
- The Museum will be closed if the signal is in force before museum opening hours.
- The Museum will be closed if the signal is issued during museum opening hours.
- The Museum will resume service within 2 hours if the signal is cancelled or lowered to Signal No.3 or below 3 hours or more before the normal closing time as conditions allow. The Museum will remain closed if the signal is cancelled or lowered to Signal No.3 or below less than 3 hours before the normal closing time.
- "Extreme Conditions"*
- The Museum will be closed if "extreme conditions" is in force before museum opening hours.
- The Museum will resume service within 2 hours if "extreme conditions" is cancelled 3 hours or more before the normal closing time as conditions allow.
- The Museum will remain closed if "extreme conditions" is cancelled less than 3 hours before the normal closing time.
(*In the case of serious disruption of public transport services, extensive flooding, major landslides or large-scale power outage caused by a super typhoon, the Government will make an announcement of "extreme conditions".)
- Black Rainstorm Warning Signal
- The Museum will be closed if the signal is in force before museum opening hours.
- The Museum will remain open if the signal is issued during museum opening hours.
- The Museum will resume service within 2 hours if the signal is cancelled 2 hours or more before the normal closing time as conditions allow. The Museum will remain closed if the signal is cancelled less than 2 hours before the normal closing time.
Museum Programmes and Outreach Programmes
Indoor Programmes
Programmes for families, children, kindergartens#, primary schools#, special schools#, child centres, elderly centres and other similar organisations (including pre-booked group guided tours)
- Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above or "Extreme Conditions"
- All programmes will be cancelled.
- Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or Red / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal
- Programmes in progress will continue. Programmes not yet commenced will be cancelled.
- If the signal is lowered 3 hours before the programme commences, the programme will proceed as scheduled.
Programmes for the public, secondary schools#, post-secondary schools and other similar organisations (including pre-booked group guided tours)
- Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above or "Extreme Conditions"
- All programmes will be cancelled.
- If the signal is lowered 3 hours before the programme commences, the programme will proceed as scheduled.
- Black Rainstorm Warning Signal
- Programmes in progress will continue. Programmes not yet commenced will be cancelled.
- If the signal is lowered 3 hours before the programme commences, the programme will proceed as scheduled.
- Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or Red Rainstorm Warning Signal
- Programmes will proceed as scheduled.
#If Education Bureau announces suspension of schools, programmes for kindergartens, primary schools, special schools and secondary schools will be cancelled.
Outdoor Programmes
- Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 or above, Red / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal or "Extreme Conditions"
- Programmes in progress may be terminated subject to on-site weather condition. Programmes not yet commenced will be cancelled.
- If the signal is lowered 3 hours before the programme commences, the programme will proceed as scheduled.

Arrangements for Fee-charging Programmes
Owing to inclement weather, the cancelled programmes will be rescheduled, or the fees will be refunded. Please retain the admission letter and receipt for further arrangement.
