Admission Arrangements |

A valid ticket or museum pass must be presented for admission. Each ticket admits one person only; each pass is exclusively for the use of the holder. Visitors may be required to provide identity documents/proof upon entry. Holders of concessionary tickets will be admitted only upon production of valid identity and/or recognised proof of eligibility for the concession. Special exhibitions/events may require an additional admission fee.

Children aged under four (4) years may enjoy free admission to the museum when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Full-time students may access permanent exhibitions free of charge. Free admission to the permanent exhibitions is available every Wednesday.

To ensure a pleasant visiting experience, please refrain from bringing large luggage or any items that may cause disturbance or inconvenience to others. Museum staff reserves the right to request visitors to store their personal belongings in the cloakroom or to deny entry based on the nature of those belongings.

Please exercise due diligence in caring for accompanying children and the elderly. Children must be accompanied by an adult during their visit and while interacting with exhibits.

To avoid accidents, do not run or play inside the museum.

Visitors must not write upon, mark, soil, or otherwise damage any exhibits, installations, walls, facilities, or objects within the museum in any way whatever or destroy them. Visitors may be held liable for any damage they cause to these items.

Please maintain cleanliness on the premises; eating and drinking are strictly prohibited inside the exhibition halls.

Entry into non-public areas is not allowed without prior permission. For security reasons, public areas within the museum are monitored by a closed-circuit television surveillance system.

Visitors are responsible for the custody and security of their personal belongings. The museum disclaims all liability for any loss of or damage to such items.

Please respect the museum staff and other visitors, and refrain from any form of physical or verbal violence to maintain a harmonious and safe environment within the museum.

To ensure safety, maintain order, or respond to practical circumstances, the museum reserves the right to modify regulations, adjust opening hours, temporarily close the museum or any part thereof, limit the number of visitors, and/or suspend or cancel any programmes or exhibitions without prior notice.

Visitors must comply with the "Museums Regulation" (Cap. 132, section 105I), regulations of the museum and each exhibition hall, and any additional rules set by the museum as deemed necessary. Additional restrictions may apply to special exhibitions and events that visitors must abide by.

The venue management has the authority to deny entry to, or request the removal of, any individuals who fail to comply with the Museums Regulation or the museum's Visitor Guidelines.

- Free admission to Permanent Exhibition on Wednesdays
*People with disabilities (and one accompanying-carer) and senior citizens aged 60 or above. Persons paying concessionary rate may be requested by museum staff to produce a valid document for verification of eligibility.

^Free admission for full-time students. Students may be requested to produce a valid document. If proof of current full-time student status is not shown on the document, museum staff reserves the right to request the student concerned to provide other evidence to prove his/her student status. Personalized Octopus card with "Student Status" is not accepted.
Tickets for the exhibition are available up to 7 days in advance at all URBTIX outlets and self-service ticketing kiosks at HKScM or other designated locations.
