The Hong Kong Science Museum is organising the “Nature Snap” Wildlife Photo Collection Campaign. We cordially invite local primary and secondary school students to discover the biodiversity in our bustling city through camera or smartphone lenses. This Campaign echoes the “Wildlife Photographer of the Year” Special Exhibition currently staged at the Museum. 

This activity aims to encourage students to connect with nature in person, fostering a deeper understanding of Hong Kong's rich and precious species and raising awareness for ecological conservation. It also provides a valuable opportunity for cross-curricular learning, allowing students to cultivate an interest in and sensitivity towards art through photography while capturing the beauty of nature.

All photographic entries must be nominated by schools. Following a selection process by the organiser, successful entrants will be awarded an official certificate. The accepted entries will be showcased digitally at the Museum to display the ecological beauty of Hong Kong to the citizens and visitors. 

Eligibility and Submission Requirements

• Participants must comply with the activity regulations and terms and conditions, otherwise participation eligibility will be cancelled or submitted works will not be accepted without further notice from the Museum;
• Must be nominated by Hong Kong registered primary and secondary schools for full-time students from Primary 1 to Secondary 6;
• Each school may submit up to three photographs, each taken by different students between 2025 and 2026;
• Submission of any images wholly or partially generated, synthesised, or modified by artificial intelligence (AI) is strictly prohibited. Teachers-in-charge and students must read and agree to the "Terms and Conditions”;
• Photograph content must feature natural ecological species photographed within Hong Kong, and meet the following photo specifications:
  
  
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9 (landscape)
  • Resolution (pixels): 1920x1080 or above
  • File format: JPG
  • File size: 5MB or below

Participation Method

Collection Deadline: 17 June, 2026 (Wednesday) 23:59

• Participation through school nomination;
• The responsible teacher must submit the completed “School Nomination Form” together with a maximum of three photo attachment files (cloud link submissions are not accepted) via email to hkscmpp@lcsd.gov.hk before the collection deadline;
• Please name the photo file in the format “School English Abbreviation_Student English Name” (Example: hkdds_ChanTaiMing.jpeg)
• The email subject line must state “Nature Snap” Wildlife Photo Collection Campaign

Exhibition on Selected Entries and Certificate Collection

Students whose photos are selected will receive a certificate. The exhibition list and the details of certificate collection will be announced in late June 2026.
