[Concluded] "Bank of China (Hong Kong) Presents: National Development and Achievements Series — Endless Exploration: The Journey of Chinese Aerospace, Aviation and Navigation"

Lecture Series

Experts recommended by the China National Space Administration will visit Hong Kong to share knowledge on aerospace, aviation, and navigation with the public and students. They will discuss China's achievements in related fields, as well as future research and development plans. This initiative aims to inspire more young people to pursue careers in scientific research, becoming a driving force for advancing future science and technology.

Date: 1.8.2025 (Fri)

Time: 2:30 pm - 4:45 pm

Target: students of senior secondary schools to universities

Topics and Speakers:

Session 1
How Do Rockets Launch?
Wu Peng (Director of Science Popularisation at the Tianjian Centre of China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation Second Academy and Special Popular Science Expert at the School of Continuing Education, Harbin Institute of Technology)

Session 2
The Heart of an Aircraft: Engines
Yin Zeyong (Aero Engine Expert)

Session 3
The Yuan Wang Class Ships
Han Long (Senior Engineer, Director at Marine Design & Research Institute of China, and Deputy Director of the Student and Popular Science Committee, Shanghai Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers)

Time: 10:00 am - 12:15 pm

Target: students of senior primary to junior secondary schools

Topics and Speakers:


Session 1
Chang'e-6's Journey to the Far Side of the Moon
Zhang Yuhua (Standing Committee Member of the Science and Technology Committee at the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Deputy Commander of the Lunar Exploration Phase III Probe System; and Deputy Commander of the Tianwen-1 Mars Probe)

Session 2
Decoding the Secrets of Human Flight
Dai Chen (Renowned Popular Science Lecturer at the Aviation Industry Corporation of China and Senior Expert at the China Aviation Industry Cultural Center)


Session 3
Exploring China's First Homegrown Large Cruise Ship: Adora Magic City 
Hao Xueying (Senior Engineer, Deputy Director of the General Management Department, CSSC Cruise Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Vice President of the Shanghai Pudong New Area Shipping Youth Association)


This lecture series is one of the extension and education activities of the "Bank of China (Hong Kong) Presents: National Development and Achievements Series — Endless Exploration: The Journey of Chinese Aerospace, Aviation and Navigation" exhibition. The exhibition is one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Promotion Series. The LCSD has all along promoted Chinese history and culture through organising an array of programmes and activities to enable the public learn more about broad and profound Chinese culture.
