Journey of Seeds
Plants employ many methods to disperse their seeds for reproduction. The seeds leave the plants and travel on a long journey to grow in distant locations. This workshop will introduce the various methods of seed dispersal, such as a free ride, temptation of food or the development of wings.

Wonders of Snails
Who loves rainy days and enjoys slow living? Snails display unique body structures and living habits, along with many relatives that you might not expect! Join our workshop to observe live snails, discover the secrets of these soft-bodied creatures, and explore their vital role in the ecosystem. You can also create your own snail craft and gain a newfound appreciation for them!

Beyond the Naked Eye: Microorganisms
From puddles to the depths of the vast ocean, microorganisms are everywhere. Their family is enormous, with a wide variety of species, exhibiting diverse forms and survival strategies. In this workshop, we will introduce the classification of microorganisms and explore their importance in maintaining our ecosystems. You will also have the chance to create a personalised microorganism drawing, capturing the wonders of these tiny life forms!

Nature Palette
Colours are found everywhere in nature, from the brightest shiny colours to camouflage colours that blend in with the environment. Have you ever thought about how colours are formed in nature? This workshop will introduce two colour-producing mechanisms (pigmentary and structural colours) and show you how organisms make use of colours in their lives.

The Metamorphic Aviator: Uncover the Secrets of Butterfly Life
Do you want to know the untold secrets of a butterfly's life? In this workshop, you will follow this aviator to explore the wondrous journey of butterfly from egg to adult. We will reveal the peculiar eating habits and spectacular body structures of caterpillars, investigate the mysterious cross-species friendship between Lycaenid butterfly larvae and ants, and learn about the magnificent migration and overwintering legends of Danaid butterflies. Through close-up observation of specimens, you will rediscover these fluttering spirits and uncover the marvellous stories behind them!

A Glimpse of the Hong Kong Cetaceans and their Health Assessment
Have you ever heard of the two resident cetacean species in Hong Kong waters? Using digital camera and drone, our lab could identify individual dolphins and conduct visual health assessment. In case of any stranding, we would use various revolutionary techniques to "dissect" the carcass in order to reveal their biological health, life history and cause of death.

Getting to Know the Bees and Wasps
Buzz, buzz, buzz, honeybees build hives and make honey. Although bees and wasps may look alike, they are not the same. In fact, the groups of bees and wasps are huge and they have diverse living habits. Surprisingly, the majority of these species live alone. In this workshop, we will explore fun facts about bees and wasps, and design a comfortable house for solitary bees.

Amphibians and Reptiles Encounter
"Are all amphibians and reptiles pests?' "Are all snakes poisonous?" There are lots of misunderstandings when it comes to amphibians and reptiles. In fact, they are our close partners and play a vital role in the ecosystem. Through descriptions and encounter sessions, the workshop will introduce the ecology and conservation of amphibians and reptiles, offering a new angle for looking at these interesting animals.

Unveil the Secret of Birds
Flight is an essential ability of most birds, assisting them in finding food and escaping from predators. Birds also have other distinctive body features that help them adapt to various environments around the world. This engaging workshop will explore the body features of birds, such as feathers and beaks, and introduce some common bird species found in Hong Kong, to unveil the secret of birds' survival strategies!

Flying with Black Kites
The workshop will introduce the flying secrets of birds, focusing on their body features and feather structure. The speaker will present different aspects of the black kite to show the audience the unique features of this common bird in Hong Kong.
