The Secret of the Robotic Arm

Nowadays, robots have become an integral part of our lives, ranging from toys to industries. Robots are not merely referring to humanoids but also include other different types. One of the earliest and most widely used is the robotic arm. The device looks simple but involves basic science such as mechanics and hydraulics.

In this programme, participants will compare the similarities of the robotic arm and human arm, learn about the principle of hydraulic pressure, and investigate how the hydraulic device can transfer energy effectively to achieve the best performance. Finally, participants will make a simple DIY mechanical clip and experience the magic of hydraulics.
