The Hong Kong Science Museum has launched an activity namely "Science Exploration Activity" - an activity tailor-made for local non-profit making youth associations or youth groups. Through this activity, children aged from 8 to 12 can experience the fun of science exploration through conducting experiments. The activity lasts for 2 hours with content specially chosen to suit the levels and interests of participants. It covers two different parts including experiment session and museum tour. Participants are guided by our experienced docents to carry out scientific experiments followed by a museum tour. Exhibits which are related to the theme will be carefully selected and examined through easy-to-understand approach. Visiting groups may choose the following themes according to their interests:
The Colourful World of Light
A kaleidoscope can be made by applying the light reflection principle. Different colours and patterns can be created by a hand-made whipping top. Are our eyes reliable? Kids may use specially-designed patterns to test how well our eyes distinguishing things.
We are sure that participants will gain an enriching and enjoyable experience through this science exploration activity. For enquiries or make appointments, please feel free to contact Ms. Lau at 2732 3223 within office hours.
